I have been childminding for approximately 20 years. I provide care for 0-5 years and Before and After School care. My home is situated very close to the local schools. Many of the families that I provide this service for have been very happily coming to me for a number of years and I have been providing this service for one family for the past 11 years. As part of my service a meal is offered to all children after school (I can also provide toast with a drink before school if required). I pride myself on the nutritious meal that I offer. Some typical meals would be for example, chicken with steamed vegetables, pasta with home made sauce and salad, jacket potatoes with cheese, beans and wholemeal bread, home made pizza and homemade soup. I always encourage the children to eat well and reward them with treats afterwards. I have a range of indoor toys and the children also have their own computer. I also have a range of outdoor equipment with an enclosure for summer healthy outdoor play. I like the children to feel happy, valued, and welcomed into my family life. I feel this is shown in the long service I have been providing to families for many years. I recently completed my level 3 NVQ in Childcare Learning and Development as well as keeping up to date with Child Protection(Safe guarding Children) First Aid and other relevant courses. Also regularly attend network meeting NCMA.
