Most of the participants first come to the centre in need of some kind of crisis support, such as a food parcel or debt advice. However the service is open to anyone with or without referral.
Hope Employment Pathway operates within Hope Cafe a one stop community support cafe. This provides practical help such as food parcels, advice, health support (eg visiting GP) and addiction intervention as well as Employment Pathway.
The Employment Pathway provides individual mentoring to enable participants to overcome health and well being problems, increase confidence and obtain skills. The participants are given voluntary work experience in and around the cafe project and offered IT, literacy and numeracy tuition. We are also developing the scheme at some of our other foodbank projects, including Broxtowe Estate and the Meadows.
