Childcare Information and Additional Needs
Settling In
- How will you help children to settle into your setting?
- We arrange a prestart visit with parent. Parents are encouraged to visit the setting prior to adding their child's name onto our waiting list. If your child is unsettled during their first sessions and we are unable to comfort them we will ring the parent/carer to return to preschool and stay with them. Parents are supported to extend the time they leave their child until the child is settled. We work closely with parents to settle children to settle with us. We send Tapestry photographs and observations to parents to reassure them that their child is settled.
Progress
- How will you communicate with parents/carers about their child's progress?
- Our Managers give face to face feedback about the child's day. We also use Tapestry to send regular observations and photographs of their child. We share their child's learning face to face and on Tapestry. The keyperson give regular updates on what we are working on and the themes and activities in the setting. We encourage parents to upload photographs and observations from home onto Tapestry.
