East Midlands Orchid Society

Formed in 1976, the East Midlands Orchid Society is a member of the British Orchid Council (BOC) and we became affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in January 1996.

Our monthly meetings are a great opportunity to enjoy the company of like-minded people, hobbyists and orchid growers. This friendly society ensures a warm welcome (from exchanging growing experiences and advice to a chat with friends) whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. Many of our members have been with us from the early days.

Our society's emblem is represented by the Paphiopedilum discovered by M. Alexandre Reginier and introduced into European cultivation in 1885. The species is native to Thailand and Cambodia and can be grown intermediate to warm producing flowers in spring/summer.
