This website is produced by the Association of Train Operating Companies for people with disabilities.

Disability Onboard aims to encourage disabled people to travel by train by providing accurate advice and guidance. They will help you identify the barriers that might affect your train journey and will show you how to seek solutions.

Please be aware that station and train staff are unable to provide personal assistance with feeding, toileting and other personal services.

When in doubt just ask when you are booking assistance and they will be able to confirm if the help you want is something that they are able to provide.

Passenger Assistance Service

Passenger Assistance is a service provided by train companies to disabled passengers and others who require assistance with any part of their train journey. Staff can help you plan your journey, book tickets and make reservations; they can also assist you at stations and on board trains, with anything from changing platforms to finding your seat.

Passenger Assistance is free and available to anyone who needs assistance due to a disability, temporary impairment, or older age. No railcard is required.
