A FREE Nottinghamshire County Council commissioned integrated Obesity Prevention and Weight Management Service that is available to Nottinghamshire residents. Operating across all seven districts, there are a range of services that Everyone Health deliver.
Adult Weight Management
If you are a Nottinghamshire resident with a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 25, you may be eligible for our free 12 month community based weight management service. We offer a 12 week group based programme including nutrition and physical activity sessions with our specialists. At the end of the 12 weeks, participants have the ongoing support from staff for maintenance sessions, walking groups and 6/12 month reviews.
Our Everyone Health programme supports behaviour change around healthy eating, weight management and physical activity to manage weight loss and maintain this long term.
Family Healthy Lifestyle programme – Alive 'N' Kicking
Alive 'N' Kicking is a free 12 week course packed full of fun and interactive activities for children and their families. The course is for children and their parents/carers to attend across Nottinghamshire and aims to improve dietary intake and increase levels of physical activity, in a supporting and friendly environment. There is group support across Nottinghamshire for children above the 91st BMI centile, from age 5 - 11 and 12 - 17.
'Healthy Me, Healthy Baby' - Maternity Lifestyle Service
We provide pre and post-natal support for women with a BMI above 30 with healthy eating and physical activity advice. Delivered by trained Nutritionist's, we support women have a healthy pregnancy for themselves and their baby, offering support on a balanced diet, breastfeeding and essential nutrients during pregnancy.
Community Healthy Lifestyle promotion
A series of initiatives focusing on spreading healthy lifestyle messages to the wider population. These sessions are aimed at addressing the local health inequalities through healthy lifestyle delivery and partnership working. We deliver healthy lifestyle sessions around nutrition and physical activity to schools, mental health services and vulnerable adults, support local and national initiatives such as 'The Daily Mile' and 'Healthier Options Takeaway', support volunteers and run community walking groups.
Brief Intervention/MECC Training (for health champions and front line staff)
Delivered by our multi-disciplinary team, this FREE training session is aimed at health champions and front line staff to increase confidence around delivering brief messages on health behaviours in a limited time frame. The course focuses on weight management, smoking, alcohol and physical activity.
