NCC Contracted Direct Payment Support Service
Penderels Trust provides advice, guidance and support services for people with disabilities who live independently in Nottinghamshire. We can support people who receive a direct payment and those who fund their own care and support.
The services we offer include:
- Help to establish your direct payment and support when considering your options
- Support to becoming an employer, including recruiting and managing staff and meeting your responsibilities
- Support to choose and use a care agency
- Help to manage your care funds (third party supported accounts)
- Support with keeping records and completing quarterly returns
- Payroll services
- Training for employers
- Support planning and brokerage
We are a not-for-profit organisation and have a team of friendly and experienced independent living advisers who are able to visit you in your home.
You should be able to pay for these support services from your direct payment (subject to agreement from your social worker). Please contact us for a menu of services and price list.
Low level support
This level of support is suitable if you already receive a direct payment and are transferring from another provider, if you already know the personal assistant you wish to recruit or are using an agency for your care. You will receive 10 hours of support.
Third party account
If you need someone to manage your care funds for you, we offer a third party supported account service. We will receive your direct payment and other care funds on your behalf and pay your care invoices/staff wages from these funds. We also check all income and expenditure and produce monthly accounts if required.
Fomerly known as a CRB, doing a DBS check on someone you are going to employ as a personal assistant or carer is highly recommended and a legal requirement if their are children in the home. Penderels Trust is an umbrella organisation for DBS and can arrange this check on behalf of employers.
We offer a specialist payroll service for those who employ their own care staff. We ensure your staff are paid accurately and on time. We will liaise with HMRC on your behalf and provide you with all the guidance and paperwork you need. We also offer a direct debit service which makes it even easier.
Ongoing Support for Independent Living
Once your direct payment or care package is established, you may wish to have the peace of mind of having someone to contact if you need any help e.g. if you have staffing issues, need to re-recruit or need help completing your financial returns. We offer ongoing support at a number of levels to suit your needs. Some levels include home visits.
