Eastwood Writers Group
The group meet each Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. Our meetings are held at the Parish Hall, Cordy Lane, Brinsley, near Eastwood, in Nottinghamshire. (Eastwood was the birthplace of the author, D.H.Lawrence 1885 - 1930.) There is a car park at the parish hall. The usual format for the meetings are as follows: Members take a sample of their current writing either to read out, or have read aloud for them, to the other members for constructive comments on how the writing may be improved.
The object of constructive criticism is to help the author by pointing out any inconsistencies or errors and to encourage them, and it should never be used to hurt or to wound the writer concerned.
Several members have recently used our group for help with writing their life story, to pass onto their children/grandchildren. Having a number of published writers in the group means that new members get the benefit of their experience.
Whether you want to write articles, fiction, poetry, or your life story, you will find fellow writers of your genre here. Why not drop in and meet us? We would love to meet you.
