Lancaster Grange Care Home

Our brand new, purpose-built care home is situated on the Fernwood Park Estate in Newark, and provides a much-needed and welcome addition to the area. The home is designed to provide the highest quality residential and nursing care for older people, including those who are living with a dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease. We welcomed our first residents early in August 2013. The name of our home came from a competion held for children from Claypole Primary school, where from over 70 entries Lancaster Grange was chosen in honour of the brave airmen who flew Lancaster Bombers from Newark in World War Two. Learning about our resident's life stories and our reminiscence work, is a key part of our person-centred care approach. This valuable work helps us to connect with our residents on a personal level and enhance the overall care that we offer to them. All of our care plans are based upon the needs of our residents and we treat each person as an individual. Our Memory Lane Community is dedicated to providing stimulation in addition to security and first-class care. Memory boxes are a key feature on all of our resident's doors and we encourage families and residents to fill these with personal memorabilia which are used to great effect to help each person reminisce. Our varied activities and events programme takes into consideration the interests of our residents and is designed to create a fulfilling and stimulating environment whilst enhancing feelings of self-worth. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationship of trust we build with our residents and their family and friends. You are very welcome to call in and visit at any time, take the opportunity to experience our hospitality and view at first hand the high standard of accommodation and facilities available here at Lancaster Grange.
