The Big House - Short breaks
The Big House is a new purpose built eight bedded children’s home that provides short breaks care for children and young people with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour between the age of 10 - 18 years.
Our vision is for The Big House to be a place where children and young people are safe, healthly and happy. A place where everyone who comes to stay can have a good quality of care, enjoying lots of new expereinces and achieving positive outcomes. We ensure that we offer a range of different activities and resources so young people have a range of experiences during their stay at The Big House.
We also provide additional services to parents and carers with an Outreach Service, Play Sessions and an Out or Hours Support Line.

The Big House is a new building with lots of facilities that we can offer parents and carers who have children with learning disabilities who are not accessing our service. We have a range of indoor activities, sensory room and outside space with lots of equipment that can be used by young people in a safe, secure setting. External organisations and professionals can also access this facility. This can be booked via The Big House.
The Big House operates an Out of Hours Support Line that can be utilised by parents and carers who needs support, advice, guidance and sign posting regarding their child.
The Big House also provides an Outreach Service for families within Nottinghamshire County, working with parents and carers on identified issues they are expereincing with their child. This is via a referral from the Children's Disability Service.

All young people are required to have a full assessment of need and a social worker or personalisation officer dependent on their legal stautus.
Young people must also be attending school.

Let down AGAIN
Rated 1 out of 5My son is booked in for over night stay and YET again he has been turned away, how many excuses do they want to give, double booked, had an emergency addmission, not enough staff to cover him, this is disgraceful.
