Weaverthorpe Pre-School
Welcome to Weaverthorpe Pre-School. Here we provide a happy, calm, secure and stimulating atmosphere in which your child learns through play. They find fun and friendship with other children and adults.
At Weaverthorpe Pre-School each child has a key person who will settle them in and help them to progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Each member of staff is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education.
Twice a week the local school hall is used for PE lessons. All the children are encouraged to participate in outdoor learning at Weaverthorpe. The sessions will include bug hunting, den building, and caring for plants.

Childcare Information and Additional Needs
Settling In
- How will you help children to settle into your setting?
- We welcome prospetive parents/carers to come and have a look around our Pre-School with their child. Once a place as been accepted we invite you in for taster sessions for parents and children to stay and play. This helps your child to settle in and become familiar with our Pre-School and staff. You will also be invited to a getting to know you session with your keyperson, who helps with the settling in and transitions from home.
Progress
- How will you communicate with parents/carers about their child's progress?
- Parents complete an all about me form. We use Tapestry, an online learning journey to give regular updates and photos of their child. You will receive progress reports support, information on what you child is working on. Parents evenings are held and we have an open door policy for parents to come and speak to us.
