Aebal Leisure ‘Support’ is about working with people on a one to one basis to help them reach personal goals and become more active and independent. This service option is as much about mentoring and understanding the person’s background as it is about sourcing leisure activities. ‘Support’ sessions work alongside the outcomes identified by social workers and families and we find all sorts of creative ways for people to get involved out in the community. This service option tends to be most beneficial to people who are perhaps finding it difficult to cope with the social demands of other services and are becoming a little isolated.
Aebal Leisure can offer the flexibility of short person-centred sessions which allow people to take small steps, build trust and get more active at their own pace. With a combination of patience, consideration and creative thinking we have supported people to find activities that truly inspire them and open their minds up to new opportunities. Aebal Leisure ‘Support’ also provides a great starting point for getting more active and often encourages people to get more involved and more sociable. We believe there is great value in social activities and will always recommend the ‘Connect’ service if we find people with similar interests and abilities. Often people get involved in both ‘Support’ and ‘Connect’ sessions which is a great way to utilise the service and gain the benefits of both.
