Carer Respite Service

Free care support for those living in Nottingham City

Do you need help to care for a loved one while you can’t be there or when you need a break?

We can offer you free support when you need it most.

We understand how important your role as a carer is to you and the person you care for. We also know that situations can arise where you need to take time out from your caring duties and can only do that if you can find the right support. That’s where we come in.

We can be there when you need it most and make sure that personalised and high quality care can continue if you need to be away. We can provide support if you:

  • Are caring for someone within the last 12 months of their life
  • Are caring for someone with dementia, mental health challenges or a learning disability
  • Find yourself in crisis or an emergency for a short period of time
  • Are a young carer providing care for an adult

There are flexible respite options and we can cover both emergencies and one-off occasions, such as a wedding or other important family commitments. We also liaise with other service providers and local authority teams to make sure everything is covered.

By enabling carers to have a balance between caring and having their own time, we also help to prevent the risk of any carer breakdown or crisis, which ensures the well-being of everyone involved.

This service is absolutely free – and you could be eligible for up to 100 hours of respite across a 12-week period.

Contact the Nottinghamshire Carers Hub to find out if you are eligible.
