Chronic Illness Social (Under 50s)

This group is aimed at young and youngish adults with chronic illnesses, roughly between the ages of 20 to 50. Our members have everything from anxiety and autism to... whatever begins with Z. (Actually, there's no one in the group with anything beginning with Z. Maybe you can be the first). The group is made up of people with physical and mental conditions, lucky us. You can come and talk about them or not talk about them. The only criteria for joining is that you must have a condition that makes it hard to do "normal" daily activities, and you must be under 50. Make sure you don't wear smelly things to the meetings as it can cause nausea and headaches for some of our members (perfume, aftershave, strong smelling hand lotion or hand sanitiser etc).

To find out exactly where we are and where we're meeting next, join our Meet Up page. We're also on Facebook.  As well as meeting in person, we have regular Skype chats and other online gatherings (we might have a space in Minecraft soon). We plan to go to other social groups together (like the WI or some art things) so no one has to be the only unicorn in the room.

This group is not about healing or therapies, but about friendship and socialising. We’re open to suggestions for things to do so please make them.

Notes

Fusion Cafe is our most regular meeting place so far, but we do meet in other places. You must join our Meet Up group to find out when and where exactly. So far we mainly meet in Beeston and Chilwell, but we're hoping volunteers will come forward to host meetings in a variety of places across Nottingham.
