Family Action

Family Action has been a leading provider of services to disadvantaged and socially isolated families since its foundation in 1869. They work with over 45,000 children and families a year by providing practical, emotional and financial support through over 100 services based in communities across England.

Family Action provides welfare and educational grants to people in need who are on a low income who fall into one of the priority areas which are:

• adults with mental health issues
• young people aged 19-25 living alone
• families fleeing domestic abuse and people needing help with the cost of medical care or the costs of convalescence.

A professional worker such as a social worker, advice worker, health visitor etc. needs to apply for you on an application form. Cannot cover arrears (except utility bills) and debts or give grants to anyone who has received a Family Action grant in the last 2 years.

Grants

Family Action's Welfare and Education grants programmes help to address the real needs of disadvantaged families and individuals, both those facing an immediate domestic need and those seeking to improve their educational and employment prospects.
