  • Client is aged 55 - 75 years
  • Located in Keyworth & Wolds, Rushcliffe
  • Requires help with: Support with Activities; Cleaning; Sitter / short breaks; Support with Work or Study; Transport; Cooking; Personal Care; Help getting in and out of bed; Personal Hygiene
  • PA should have: Current DBS/CRB check; Full Driving License
  • Ideally speaks: English
Job description

Full time Personal Assistant post, 35 hours per week.

5.6 weeks holiday per holiday year pro-rata for each week worked, this is equal to 196 hours per year.

£7.83 per hour- which will rise in line with National Minimum Wage.

To support a venerable disabled gentleman who has a speech impairment and lives in the Keyworth area, who has a passion for cars, poetry and also classical music.

The gentleman would like to continue to be supported with maintaining his independence in his home and community.    

He is looking for the following:

Companionship

Preparing nutritious meals

Personal care e.g. washing and dressing

Accessing the local community e.g. to do the weekly shopping, attend regular medical appointment i.e. Chiropodist, Dentist and also Hospital appointments.

Planning and organising day trips out, i.e. drives around the countryside.

A car enthusiast would be desirable to assist with visiting car showrooms, second hand dealers etc. once or twice a week.   

Maintaining a healthy living space e.g. light cleaning and domestic support

Support around medication management. Collect medication every 4 weeks from the local chemist  

Clean driving licence, Personal Assistant will have access to a motor mobility car (not adapted)

Able to give good sound advice around finances

To go on a fully paid for 2-week cruise holiday once a year (mainly out of season)

The Personal Assistant must be:

Reliable and flexible and honest

A compassionate and empathetic nature

The ability to take initiative and responsibility

To be able to work with others organisations i.e. care agency who provide care in the evenings and weekends, payroll and Social Services  

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Highly organised and adaptable

An enthusiastic and positive attitude

A desire to continuously improve and develop

Good at problem solving

DBC checked

Enjoy making a real positive difference to people’s lives
