Worried that your child is having emotional and/or behavioural difficulties?

If your child has emotional or behavioural difficulties it may be useful first of all to discuss the problem with your GP, health visitor or school nurse. To find out where your nearest GP is located and to access the NHS search facility please click here GP Search

Healthy Family Teams are part of the Healthy Families Programme, an integrated service for children, young people and families which includes health visitor and school nursing support. Under Fives and Early Help Support

The Early Help Unit provides a central contact point for professionals and families wanting to access early help services in Nottinghamshire, which includes support around behavioural difficulties. For more information please click here.

Local Children's Centres can give support with some parenting issues. They are located in every district of Nottinghamshire and offer a wide range of support including around child development, communication and behaviour. Think Children are a registered charity who provide an early intervention service to young children aged 4-11 years who are displaying emerging signs of social, emotional or behavioural issues. For more information please click here.

Behaviour Support

Notts County Council's Disabled Children's Support Services (Early Support) offers bespoke, individualised packages of support for children and young people from birth to their 18th birthday, either within their own homes or local communities, supported by trained / experienced workers. This can include support around behavioural issues such as establing positive routines and sleep advice. For information please click here.

The Integrated Children's Disability Service can offer a wide provides a wide range of advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. For more information please click here.

Community Learning Disability Teams are made up of a wide range of social workers and health professionals who provide specialist assessment, advice, treatment and support services for adults with a learning disability. To access the service, the person has to have a learning disability, be over 18 years of age or in transition from children’s services or education. For more information please click here.
