How to Become a Foster Carer
Fostering is caring for a child or young person in your own home when they are unable to stay with their own families.
Foster carers come from all backgrounds and we're looking for people just like you. What's really important is that you'd like to give a child a safe and loving home.

Could you foster?
Foster carers can be:
- single, married, divorced or living together
- in a same sex relationship
- identifying as any gende
- from any ethnic or religious backgroun
- a homeowner , living in privately rented accommodation or living in local authority accommodatio
- employed or in receipt of benefit
- already a paren
- living with disabilities
Most people can be considered as foster carers, but there are some requirements
- ideally, you will have a spare bedroom for the sole use of a foster child (we may discuss 0-2 year olds sharing a foster carer’s room
- you must live in or very near to Nottinghamshir
- you must be aged over 2
- you must have some experience of caring for or working with children or young people.
