Local Offer

Description

People who qualify on grounds of age or certain forms of disability are entitled to a concessionary travel pass.

You are an eligible disabled person if you:

  • are blind or partially sighted
  • are profoundly or severely deaf
  • are without speech
  • have a disability, or have suffered an injury, which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to walk
  • do not have arms or have long term loss of the use of both arms
  • have a learning disability - a state of arrested or incomplete development of mind which includes significant impairment of intelligence and social functioning, or
    would have an application to drive a motor vehicle refused due to your disability.
  • have had a driving licence refused on medical grounds (excluding cases involving drugs or drink)

The Nottinghamshire scheme offers the following additional benefits over and above the English national scheme:

Free travel on the Nottingham tram (NET) between 9.30am and 11.00pm Monday to Friday, all day at weekends and on bank holidays.

Free travel may be available to companions of disabled residents of Nottinghamshire who are blind, have a severe learning disability or who have a severe physical disability, which means they request assistance when travelling. Free travel for companions is available on off-peak bus and tram services at the times specified above.
