Bookstart
Bookstart is a national programme managed by BookTrust that encourages all parents and carers to enjoy books with their children from as early an age as possible.
Bookstart gives free books to every child in England an dWales at two key stages before school
There are two main Bookstart Packs that are gifted to children before they reach 5 years of age.
Bookstart Baby Pack: For babies 0-12 months old
Bookstart Treasure Pack: For toddlers 3-4 years old.
Your health visitor should give you the first pack, the second is available from daycare settings, playgroups, Children's Centres. If your child has missed out (for example a baby who has spent extra time in hospital) make sure you ask for your free packs.
Both packs are also available in all libraries for families to collect too. Packs for dual language and additional needs babies and toddlers are also available on request.

- Bookstart Star pack is aimed at children aged three to five who have disabilities that impact on or delay the development of their fine motor skills and includes books and resources to help families enjoy reading together every day.
