Bingham Penguins Swimming Club

Bingham Penguins Swimming Club is a club for people with disabilities, their families and carers and has been running for nearly thirty years.  We meet on Sundays at Bingham Leisure Centre and provide a safe environment for people to swim and gain confidence in the water.

The club is a charity, run entirely by volunteers and funded exclusively by donations. All of our coaches, poolside helpers and volunteers are trained to provide a safe and secure environment for swimmers with disabilities.

Description

We encourage swimmers to gain enjoyment from, and achieve their potential within swimming, whether their first few strokes or whether competing at national or international levels.  We have links within the county for disability swimming and wider sports, encouraging swimmers to achieve to their maximum potential and move on to county mainstream swimming clubs, such as the Nova squad and take part in other sporting events.

Alongside regular swimming session, Bingham Penguins encourages members and their families to actively compete in other disability sports.  The club also use local connections to enable members to attend alternative sporting events, for example the Nottingham School of Sport.

Bingham Penguins also organises social events for members and their families such as organised walks, an annual awards celebration evening and Christmas party.
